M&A Activity

  • 16 M&A deals were announced with disclosed values of $1.9B (average disclosed deal value of $318M)
  • The acquisitions of Webroot by Carbonite for $619M, Demisto by Palo Alto Networks for $560M, and IDology by GB Group for $300M led all M&A activity for February
  • The most active sectors this month were: SecOps / IR / Threat Intel (3), Identity & Access Management (2), & Risk & Compliance (2)

Financing Activity

  • 37 financing transactions completed with total capital raised of $673M (median amount raised of $15M)
  • Contrast Security’s $65M Series D, Illumio’s $65M Series E, & vArmour’s $44M Series E rounds led all financing activity for February
  • 57% of total financing deals were Early Stage to Series A; Median amount raised was $8M
  • The most active sectors this month included: Application Security (8), Network & Infrastructure Security (6), & Fraud & Transaction Security (4)
